Local papers know their area well. So when the Lynn News & Advertiser asked about my 50th year, I felt genuinely honoured.
Here is a short summary of what the paper covered. I have also added some background on the award itself.
What the Lynn News DJ Award Story Covered
Reporter Molly Nicholas wrote the piece for the Lynn News & Advertiser. It described me as a full-time sole trader based in Sutton Bridge.
The article covered two milestones together. First, my Prestige Awards win came with a gold multi-award trophy. Second, the win arrived in my Golden Jubilee year as a DJ.

Fifty Years in One Lynn News DJ Award Story
The paper also traced my career back to 1976. I started as Timsha Disco, then moved on to the Tinsel and Satin Music Show.
Later, I founded Radio Gets Wild, an online community radio station for independent artists. Then, in November 2013, I returned to the road as Mobile Disco Network.
That Prestige win took my total to 22 regional and national business awards. You can see them all on my awards and recognition page.
What the Judges Praised
According to the feature, the judging panel liked how the business keeps evolving. In particular, they mentioned several modern touches:
- Digital selfie pod photo booths with instant sharing
- Touchscreen vinyl set-ups for a classic sound
- An online planning portal for every client
- Boogie Bingo alongside high-end wedding hosting
I was thrilled they spotted the touchscreen vinyl, because it blends old and new so neatly.
